Long Journey Homeoffer support to a number of small arts organisations run by artists in exile' i.e. Travelling Light - a predominantly visual arts group; Rega Arts - a video, photography and music group; Roaming Pictures - a film and video group; and Afro-Xe - a music and theatre group. We are currently helping a group of journalists, writers and photographers in exile to set up a Media Group with the aim of publishing a regular quality magazine designed to foster understanding between the host communities and the new and emerging communities of refugees and asylum seekers.
TRAVELLING LIGHT:
was formed in 2002 to support refugee artists living in Nottingham and the East Midlands. Run by and for artists the aims of t he group are to:
· Organise visual arts exhibitions and performance projects by refugee artists locally, regionally and nationally.
· Support arts activities and develop arts skills within the refugee communities in Nottingham.
· Break down barriers and promote positive experiences of cultural diversity through arts-based educational activities throughout the host communities.
· Act as an advocate for culturally specific art forms that come out of the diverse refugee communities living in Britain today.

REGA ARTS:
is a voluntary, non-profit making, culturally diverse, multi-media arts organisation based in Nottingham.
The aims of the organisation are to:
· Work with musicians from other nationalities and cultures to develop an ensemble / orchestra that fuses both traditional and contemporary dance music from across the world.
· Organise and deliver ‘arts’ workshops and educational courses to the local refugee and host communities in Nottingham.
· Help to support and organise arts and cultural events in Nottingham.
· Perform locally, nationally and internationally at both indoor and outdoor events and festivals.
· Explore other mediums such as theatre and film and work with other artists to develop exciting and challenging cross-cultural and cross-art form projects.
· Develop and assist the growth of more ‘arts’ groups from within both the local refugee communities and the diverse host communities.
· Develop a regional and national database of culturally diverse musicians and artists sympathetic to the aims of the organisation.

AFRO-XE
Members of Afro-Xe, pronounced 'Afro Share', are available for workshops on drumming, singing, and dancing from Southern Africa. They are developing experience of delivering workshops to schools and to interest groups.
They are also available for concerts.
