is an East Midlands wide network that recognises the important role the arts can play in breaking down barriers between communities, empowering the disenfranchised, and enriching the cultural wealth of society as a whole.
We work with ‘artists in exile’ and those communities that have recently arrived in the UK from all over the world fleeing persecution and poverty. Each individual with a story to tell, and every group bringing with them different tastes and sounds and fresh ways of seeing.
“We believe that the arts have a real and tangible role to play in making people welcome, assisting integration and understanding, as well as providing job opportunities. New groups arriving in any area will include artists who will broaden the base of the creative community, and who will make a significant contribution to the existing performance and visual programmers. The region will be richer for it.”
